TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Pete Potgieter is the therapist at CBT Counselling and Psychotherapy and autismspectrum.men 

Pete is both an Accredited Clinical Social Worker and an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. 
He is a certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist who provides treatment to mature men.
He has completed advanced training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Trauma Informed Interpersonal 
Therapy. 
He does not provide autism assessment or autism diagnosis as a service. 

Pete provides Video Appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 3:00 pm or 5:00 pm
Pete will first have to assess if telehealth treatment by video call is a good option for your treatment, as not all presentations are suitable for treatment by telehealth. This will be reviewed with you during the course of your treatment. 

Ongoing Assessment of Treatment and Therapeutic Fit:
- Pete will ask you to access treatment with another therapist if he forms an understanding that your condition requires a different treatment, to what he can provide. 
- Pete will ask you to access treatment with another therapist if he assesses that you and he are not a good fit therapeutically. 
- Pete works individually, that is one-to-one, with men and he does not provide family counselling or relationship counselling. He does not engage therapeutically with either the family member or the carers of clients. 
- Pete does not provide services to men who use drugs such as crystal methamphetamine, who engage in violent, threatening or aggressive behaviour or who are sexual offenders. 
- Pete does not provide forensic services. He does not appear as an expert witness in Court for clients and he does not liaise with legal representatives.
- He does not work with men who are engaged in, or will be engaged in,  Family Court processes or in Criminal Court processes, or who are under parole or correctional supervision orders. 
- Please note that Pete does not 
provide: Letters, assessments or reports for family law or other legal purposes; testing and reports for an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis; ADHD assessments and reports or any other testing. 

Cancellation Policy: 
- Please note that it is a condition of service that you are required to give Pete at least one full business day's notice if you need to cancel or move your scheduled appointment to another date.
- If you cancel your appointment with less than 1 full business day's notice or if you do not turn up for your appointment, you will be charged in full for the appointment.
- Pete will not be able to schedule further appointments if there are any payments outstanding. 
- If you either miss or cancel two appointments at short notice, Pete will then not be able to provide you with further treatment and he will ask you to access treatment with another therapist.
